“Requiem For A Young Man is a feast for the senses…”
John K. Brown started singing at a very young age and God has continued to bless him with a career in this industry. He grew up in Louisville, KY (a southern boy) and attended performing art schools from late elementary school and all through college. His first taste of artistic directing came when his mother sent him to Europe on tour with his performing high school ensemble where he was the lead vocalist and dancer. From then on, the inspiration of perfecting a piece of work to excel to its highest achievement was developed.
His BFA Degree in Musical Theatre and AA in Staging and Directing has brought him a long way and he thanks God for the opportunity to work with and direct under Mr. Ron Owen. His credits include 10 years at Walt Disney World (currently as Judge #1 at “The American Idol Experience”), Leadership Coordinator for “Enviropals” (currently running on PBS) and a 7-year member of the acclaimed international a cappella group Rockapella (from the hit PBS show “Where in the World is Carmen San Diego”). His Theatre/Director credits include Hello Dolly, Miss Saigon, The Lion King, West Side Story and Pippin.
He has performed with, directed, and staged with stars such as Phil Collins, Tina Turner, Julie Andrews, Dennis Haysbert, Brian Mcknight and Steve Tyler. The entertainment business is not easy to live in, but with the grace of God all things are possible and mountains can be moved! John has been happily married to his loving wife Cristina, for 8 years and adores his children Deven, Michael, Kaley, Jasmine and Fabian and their big dog (Jack) too.
